5 Intentional Ways To Write Love Notes To Your Kids

As a mom, it’s important to me to express love and affection to my children in meaningful ways. One way I’ve found to do this is by writing love notes to my kids. These little gestures can have a big impact on their hearts and create lasting memories. So, I wanted to share with you five intentional ways you can write love notes to your kids.

Letters for the Future
Last year, I bought these personalized notebooks for each of the kids to write them letters in to be read when they become adults. It’s a wonderful way to write how you feel about them during an everyday moment or even a milestone, share thoughts, and strengthen your bond for them to read when they become older. Each time they read your letters, they’ll feel your love.

Lunchbox Surprises
One thing about me, I will slip a handwritten note into their lunchbox or backpack. It could be a simple “I love you” or a heartfelt message to brighten their day. It is one of those small things that can a big difference. Knowing that you took the time to write a note just for them will make them feel special.

Mirror Messages
Place colorful sticky notes with uplifting messages on their bedroom or bathroom mirror. Sometimes, I like to write several of them and make them a fun shape like a smiley face or heart. They’ll be delighted to find these surprise notes before getting ready for the day and going about their daily routines. It’s always a treat seeing their little faces light up when they read the note.

Surprise Mail
Even though we’re in the day and age of email, snail mail still makes people feel special – kids included. Send them a letter or a card in the mail. Everyone loves receiving mail, especially when it’s from a loved one. To make it special, I like to put stickers of their favorite character on the envelope. It’s a tangible reminder that they’re always in my thoughts and that I care deeply about them.

Just Because Love Notes
Be present and take advantage of everyday moments to slip a love note into their hands. It could be before a test, a sports game, or a performance. These small gestures show your support and boost their confidence.

By incorporating these intentional ways of writing love notes, we can create meaningful memories and nurture a strong bond with our children. Remember, it’s not about the complexity of the note, but the love and thought behind it that truly matters.

So, take a few moments today to write a love note to your child. Remember, it doesn’t have to be perfect; it just needs to come from the heart. Watch their faces light up as they receive these precious messages of love.
