4 Dresses To Wear While Pregnant

While I’m a firm believer in maintaining your style even during pregnancy, it is – without a doubt – different dressing a bump. However, I’ve found that certain dresses make your bump look good without sacrificing feeling good.

Whenever I dress during pregnancy, I tend to gravitate towards dresses no matter the season. Truthfully, trying to fit into one dress versus a top and bottom makes life a bit easier and I’ve always been a dress kind of girl.

Here are 4 types of dresses to wear when you are pregnant without sacrificing style:

EMPIRE DRESS

The empire dress is super bump friendly as the waistline is a bit higher and avoids being tight around your belly. I’m wearing one here (and also here) and it always is to comfortable to wear. In warmer weather, opt for cotton or lighter fabrics. In the cooler months, don’t be afraid to layer with turtlenecks or blazers.

MIDI DRESS

Because your midsection inevitably gets rounder during pregnancy, midi dresses are such a great silhouette for your baby bump. It balances out your shape while still leaving enough room for your shoes to be seen. Great of course if it had an empire waistline or even an A-line silhouette.

BODYCON DRESS

I’m such a believer in showing off that bump when you’re expecting. Nothing does this better than wearing a bodycon dress. Now I’m not saying you need wear a freakum dress, but a form fitting dress is actually pretty comfortable to wear. I like to wear bodycon dresses at the midi or maxi length in a variety of sleeves – bandeau, sleeveless, short sleeves or long sleeves – depending on the weather. They look great alone or layered with accessories + other pieces.

MAXI DRESS

Maybe it’s because I like to wear them even when I’m not pregnant, but maxi dresses are one of my go to’s when I have a baby bump. They’re long and can easily look polished or casual depending on the print, material and/or silhouette. I love maxi dresses because they keep you cool during warm weather and warm during cool weather. A win-win.

Pregnancy is a time where you can sometimes not feel like yourself. Wearing clothes that make you feel confident and stylish doesn’t have to stop during these next few months. Hang in there, momma! You got this.
