As you’ll notice, I’m wearing denim which may or may not work for your work wardrobe situation. However, if you have more of a strict office dress code, definitely use this as inspiration for casual Friday (which tends to be a lot more flexible in spring and summer). If you are going to opt to wear denim at the office, I encourage you to wear wide leg denim like these Joe’s Jeans (that I got from Amazon Fashion!) Wide leg jeans look great on every silhouette and feel a little more formal than skinny jeans.
When it comes to print, go for making one piece printed – your blazer, your blouse or even printed trousers. A classic print like leopard acts like a neutral when you wear it with black dress pants, a pencil skirt or even denim.
Here are my absolute musts when it comes to wearing a statement tee to work:
- Only wear one printed piece at a time. For the sake of staying on the safe side of the office dress code, make your blouse, blazer or even pants printed, while keeping the rest of your look neutral and office friendly.
- Opt for classic prints like leopard print, polka dots or stripes. If your work environment is lenient with their dress code, have fun with prints like florals.
- If you’ve never worn prints to work and are apprehensive on giving it a try, wear it on a Friday when you can get away with it because of the universal “casual Friday” rule.
