With summer here and vacation right around the corner, it’s important to get my skin looking as flawless as possible. And sure I can exfoliate, getting some sun and moisturize (times a trillion), but scars take a little bit more work. That’s where Mederma comes in.
A few months ago, I was taking some pizza out of the oven and almost dropped the pan. Instead of letting it fall and taking the L, I tried to catch it with my leg, but had on distressed jeans and caught it right on my skin. It still fell and even worse, I got burned. While the burn healed, it left behind a pretty dark and noticeable scar on my right thigh. It’s noticeable when I wear shorts and dresses and with beach weather being here I’m a little self conscious about it. I did some research on what the best scar removers are and of course I came across Mederma. So then they reached out to me to create some content for them, the timing couldn’t have been better.
We’re planning on going a few places this summer – NYC, LA and Florida if everything works out as planned and I want to able to show off my legs without my scar getting all of the attention. So, I’ve been using the Mederma Advanced Scar Gel. Because my scar is an old one, I’ll need to use it for 3 to 6 months to get rid of the appearance of it. But for new scars, gently rubbing the gel on the scar everyday for 8 weeks should do the trick. (To be clear, don’t apply this on open wounds! Ouch!) You want to keep the gel at room temp and apply it daily. Once a day is enough as you don’t want to go overboard. If I’m being honest, I saw results as soon as one week. By the time I go to LA in August, this little pesky scar should be pretty much invisible.
They have a large tube (1.76 oz) for everyday at home use and a mini tube (0.70 oz) which is great for travel or keeping it in your purse on the go. I like to use the gel after I’ve showered and moisturized. The gel is the last thing I put on before I head to bed.
Whether you’ve got a scrape, burn, cut or some sort of scar you want to go away before heading to the beach or on family vacay this summer, you certainly need to use the Mederma Advanced Scar Gel. It’s easy to use and you see results fast!
Thanks for the suggestion! I’m going to try it.
