One of those NYC nights that I will honestly never forget. Collaborating with friends can be fun yet only momentary. In this instance, working with Tracy was both fun and productive with a lasting effect.

Earlier this week, I traveled to NYC for a work trip. One of the awesome things I got to do is be a part of Tracy G’s first live podcast ever for She’s Beauty and the Beast. I had the pleasure of meeting Tracy via social media about 2 years ago and we finally met in person last summer. Our friendship has grown over the last few months, so when we found out I was going to be in the city for a few days, we jumped at the opportunity to collaborate.
Because Tracy and I have lots of conversations about social media and influence, I knew that it would be part of the event somehow. We’re both influencers in our own right, but it’s a fickle world to navigate through while maintaining the integrity of being your authentic self. It was important to us to have that kind of transparent dialogue in an intimate setting with a few of our followers. When we discussed her hosting her first live podcast with me as a guest, we knew this would be the perfect opportunity.
It was Monday night (August 28) at the VNYL (Vintage New York Lifestyle) in the gorgeous Champagne Garden Room. There was only room for 40 of us total, so when we blasted out the event via social and email, it sold out what seemed like immediately. We cannot thank you guys enough for the support. It means the world to us.
Another highlight of the podcast was that we had Vaseline, Boscia and Creme of Nature sponsor some goodies for everyone who came out. Also a huge thanks to them as well.
Honestly, the evening ended up being better than I anticipated. There were so many awesome people in one room and great conversation with Tracy as usual. We discussed what it’s really like to be an influencer and the greatest lessons we’ve learned along the way.
QUOTES FROM THE EVENT:
“The bridge between burdens and blessings is balance.” – me
“Make sure that when you’re depositing into someone’s life, you’re not depleting from yours.” – me
“Faith keeps us running. Belief is what lives forever.” – me
“Favor is the currency of gratefulness.” – me
“Making small decisions in real time is the number one productivity killer.” – me
“It’s so easy to get caught up in creating the extraordinary that we miss out on the beauty in the ordinary that’s already in front of us.” – Tracy
“You gotta give God space to stunt.” – Tracy
“Authenticity works every time.” – Tracy
“Everyone’s blessings come with a fine print. If we don’t manage them, they become burdens.” – Tracy
It was so, so, so good. It was a live podcast but we didn’t record the conversation to create an exclusive experience. You certainly don’t want to miss the next one.
Most of all, a huge thanks to Tracy for having me and for everyone who took time out of their schedules to attend! Felt blessed to be in a room with such positive and lovely ladies.
