One of my favorite things about fall is layering. But with a bump, I have to be careful to not wear the wrong layers and still show off my style. This look did just the trick.

When fall hits, I’m always excited to have the challenge of layering weather appropriate items with summer pieces that I want to make fall friendly. This season was a bit more of a challenge because of my bump, but so far I think I’m nailing it in the layering department.
First of all, I was so excited to find cropped flare maternity jeans. As soon as I saw them I immediately clicked ‘Add To Cart.’ ASOS Maternity really does have so many great pieces.
I had this ZARA lace dress from last year (similar here) and was pleasantly surprised when I learned that my bump fit in it. So I wore a maternity tank top (super comfortable), paired it with these jeans and layered the dress over it. It was pretty cool the morning we shot this photos so I added this H&M blazer. (So many good blazers at H&M right now.) It wasn’t supposed to be a part of the look originally but it was too cool to not wear it. However, I love how it turned out.
Because I had a whole black motif going on aside from the denim, I decided to wear my new favorite ankle boots from ZARA, my everyday bag and matte black watch. I was feeling quirky so I added the glasses just to make a small statement. With all black ensembles, I like to make a pop with color. Since I didn’t do that in this instance, I decided to go with an interesting accessory – oversized glasses. (If I would’ve done sunglasses instead, I would’ve gone with something like this.)
Of course, the heels are solely for the photos. In real life, I’d wear this on a Friday like today while running errands before picking up Maizah from school wearing mule slides or flats like this. If we’re being honest here…
