I really can’t believe my first baby is 5 years old. Her birthday was September 25 and we threw her a Disney princess birthday party. It was quite a hit.

Because we are still waiting to get in the new house, I knew I had to find a venue. Luckily, we were able to book the same place we had her first birthday party. It’s a local, easy to get to so and crazy affordable so I booked it quick. Admittedly, I can be last minute about birthday parties, but because I knew I didn’t have the physical bandwidth to run around, I planned things out about 6 weeks ahead of time.
Maizah has always loved Disney – especially Rapunzel and Tiana – so I wanted to make sure we had little details of Disney princesses throughout the party. Since it was an all girl party and we asked all guests to wear their favorite Disney princess costumes.
Maizah dressed up as Rapunzel (her favorite) and Caliana was Snow White. (Found both of their cute dresses on Amazon.)
I love a balloon installation and while I’m usually up for a Pinterest project, I happily hired Sharonda of Immaculate Balloon Creations who created such a gorgeous balloon demi arch for her party. (The colors were absolutely perfect!)
For food, I kept things simple with mini bottles of water, turkey sliders, a fruit platter and wings (from Publix), chips & pretzels and Capri Suns. It was 90 degrees the day of the party so 90% of us drank water including the kids!
For her birthday cake, we went custom thanks to a great recommendation from one of the other moms from Maizah’s school and I was very pleased with how it turned out. Even though Disney princesses have an array of theme colors, we kept things purple, pink and gold for the sake of consistency.
For tablecloths, paper plates, napkins and gift bags (gift bag items) I found it all on Amazon. In the gift bags, I included one Little Golden Book of one of the Disney classics featuring a princess (Snow White, Tangled, Aladdin, Cinderella, Princess and the Frog and Sleeping Beauty) with Disney princess nail polish and chap stick. For birthday hats, I found these cute gold glitter crowns that looked so cute on all the girls. (Found it all on Amazon!)
We also included a Thank You card from the same Etsy seller who created her invitations. In fact, the Etsy had the option of purchasing a party pack vs the invitation alone and I purchased the party pack. It included water bottle labels and bingo cards. While we printed out the water bottle labels, I never got around to even putting them on the water. (Ha!)
As far as games were concerned, Disney Princess bingo was fun. Most of the kids didn’t know how to play bingo and we used fruit snacks as the bingo pieces. We also did limbo outside (thanks to a jump rope and a playlist on Tidal) and a treasure hunt with little chocolate coin candies I bought from Party City. Although simple, those 3 games kept them quite busy.
For last minute items like plasticware, confetti poppers and the balloons and streamers we used on the table – I made quick trips to Target & Party City.
On the cake table, we did all the sweets – cake, cookies and LOTS of candy. I used Pinterest as a guide for my candy bar. I ended up leaving four more containers that I bought and didn’t realize it until the party was over, but I think it ended up being more than enough.
All in all, it was a great time. Maizah couldn’t stop smiling, laughing and having a good time. And even though it was so much – it was absolutely worth it!
