NECKLACE // My Name Mecklace
Lately, Iāve been shopping more Black owned fashion boutiques. They say millennials arenāt loyal to household name brands and maybe thereās some truth to that. Iām not loyal to a company just because theyāve been around for 50+ years. If a companyās story speaks to my own personal story then itās a no-brainer to shop with them. This is why I have been really intentional on shopping with small, online – specifically Black owned fashion boutiques.
Let me preface this by saying THERE ARE SO MANY amazing Black women-owned boutiques on Instagram. This is simply the tip of the iceberg. But it was important for me to highlight my favorites as of late and who Iāve recently purchased from. I may turn this into a post series if you guys – my audience – respond to it. In fact, leave me your favorite Black owned fashion boutiques in the comments below. Iām always looking to support fly businesses and there are so many I donāt know about.
Here are my 5 current favorite Black Owned Fashion Boutiques on Instagram.
NICHOLE LYNEL
Nichole really just gets it. She can put on anything – she models the pieces for her brand daily on both her personal and business accounts – and makes you want to buy them. She knows how to sell you both the look and the mood. With over 218K Instagram followers, she inspires followers with inspirational quotes, a look at behind the scenes of her growing fashion brand and is the most consistent at posting her usually sold out (because theyāre that gorgeous) pieces. Iām wearing the Giving Him the Blues Crop Set (above). I havenāt had the chance to cross paths with Nichole in person quite yet, but sheās definitely my kinda girl: extra and consistent.
CURRENTLY LOVING: Doll Baby Ruffle Dress in Pink
SWANK BLUE
This LA-based fashion brand is run by celebrity stylist Olori SWANK. What started as an online boutique where Olori sold her favorite thrift pieces is now both a brick & mortar and online store that sells edgy and stylish pieces from rompers to party dresses. Iāve been a huge fan of Olori (I actually hosted my first in person event with her years ago here in ATL) and she is the real deal. She styles everyone from Childish Gambino to Rae Sremmurd and still has time to write books and run this successful brand. Goals for sure.
CURRENTLY LOVING: Panic At The Disco Pants
A AU
One of my favorite people to follow on Instagram is Asiyami Gold, so itās no surprise I absolutely love her line A. Au. If you donāt already follow Asiyami her photos are always so stunning and captivating. Sheās easily one of the most thoughtful content creators I follow. Her pieces from A. Au are just as thoughtful. They are bold in shape, color and print and you will easily turn heads when you wear them. Her most current collection is the Morocco Collection and all pieces are made in Nigeria. As an African girl, this makes my heart sing.
CURRENTLY LOVING: The Mandarine Dress
HOUSE OF LAYLLAH
This vintage and custom boutique is run by the sisters of Layllah Style from Atlanta. The unique thing about their site is that they sell both custom DIY and vintage pieces. The impressive part is that either or, they make everything look so good. Also, most of their pieces are under $100 but youād never know because they all look high end and chic. Whether youāre into a floor-length duster or a killer blazer dress, HOL has a little bit of something for everyone. I know this is a new venture for Kay and Cari, but they definitely have made quite the impression in just a few months!
CURRENTLY LOVING: Cherry Bomb Red Blazer
MEOW AND BARKS BOUTIQUE
I am a huge fan of this brand. Actually, I wore a super cute romper from them a couple of weeks ago (and Beyonce happened to wear the same one). Last year I was able to briefly meet and speak with the owner Traci Evans who is so sweet and stylish in person. Traci runs the boutique out of Jacksonville, FL but also has an appointment only showroom in Atlanta. Iāve seen so many celebs and influencers (like Kela and Tahira) wear her trendy pieces on Instagram making them super visible and highly in-demand with followers. Meow and Barks Boutique boasts over 63k Instagram followers with no signs of slowing down anytime soon.
CURRENTLY LOVING: Havana Mama Blouse

Funky Flair Boutique is exactly what I need when I want to add a little sexy to my outfit for a date night with my hubby. There are great selections of jumpers and dresses and they even accommodate my larger and taller size.
Funky Flair Boutique is located in Marietta, GA and is owned by Kesha Denise. The boutique is my go to when Iām planning a trip out of the country or a girls trip in the states. She has creative and edgy outfits along with accessories to complete the look. Check her boutique out and I promise you will not be disappointed!
Funky Flair Boutique is owned by Kesha Denise in Atlanta, Georgia. I’ve had the opportunity to meet with Kesha. She’s a very sweet, stylish person with a bubbly, “funky flair.” Kesha is all about keeping her customers first and making sure they have they best overall experience when shopping with her brand. Her customer experience, in my opinion is what keeps her clients in the door. The boutique’s clothing is great quality and also keeps up with current trends. Not only do they have clothing, they also have shoes, as well as beautiful jewelry. I definitely recommend this company!
Whether it’s for work or play, Kesha of Funky Flair Boutique has what you need. I go to her for the great conversation and unique pieces you won’t find in the mall. In fact, I don’t go to the mall anymore. She will help you find the right pieces for you, whatever the occasion. I follow her on IG to see how other customers style their pieces. While I like to visit the store, her online store is great! Check her out!
