There’s so many rules when it comes to style: “Don’t wear gold and silver together.” “Don’t wear vertical stripes if you’re petite.” Quite honestly, there comes a point when you have to start making your own rules.

With so many style “rules” you have to ask yourself if they actually work for your personal style, body shape and the times. While vertical lines are slimming and if you’re already slender old rules don’t advise it, I say go for it if it makes you feel good. Because this Milly dress is a midi dress and hugged my body, the assumption for shoes might have been pumps or a cute sandal. I love that Chris (my photographer who also styles me) opted for this silver oxfords I’ve had in my closet for a little over a year. We believe in breaking the rules when it comes to style, so we mixed things up with gold (my watch and hardware on the bag) and silver (my shoes and sunnies). I would totally wear this to a summer show/concert or even to run some errands with Maizah. Such a fun dress!
LOVE this look on you Mattie!

I totally agree about following rules. You can really limit yourself with your personal style if you do not experiment and see what works for you. Adore your silver oxfords. If I could I would own them in every color!!!
