Faux Fur Coat + Mom Jeans

Is it winter? Is it spring? I’ll tell you who doesn’t know: Atlanta? A faux fur coat with slides and cuffed mom jeans. Yup. I just threw this look together in my confusion like the weather.

This was one of those looks in my head that I wasn’t really sure I could pull off in person. The scarf I’m wearing is the oldest accessory I own – a vintage scarf my mom gave me when I was 13 or 14. I wear as a head scarf sometimes but decided to wear it as a neckerchief in this case. Turns out it worked. It’s all primary colors which I feared would be too bright for the rest of my very neutral look, but sometimes a pop of color is necessary.

I’m obsessed with this faux fur coat. My good friend gave it to me a couple of years ago. Turns out she got it from her aunt but thought it was more me than her. Thank goodness for friends. The color is perfect – not too dark or light, so it really goes with anything I wear with it. It’s sort of cropped which I like. It makes it an appropriate length even for dresses or a more formal look.

These mom jeans from Madewell are super comfortable. To style them, I decided to cuff the hem and let the slide trend shine. Slides are necessarily my thing now, but these black bow numbers from ZARA were super cute. Funny enough, everything I’m wearing is from last season or later. The only “new” thing I’m wearing here is this crossbody bag from Target. Which is so good. The hardware and details don’t read like it cost $25. My kind of buy.
