Meet Caliana

As you’ve probably noticed, I’ve been away from my blog for a couple months now. But for good reason. We welcomed our second child into the world a couple of months ago.

Caliana Lily James was born early on the morning of January 25.

She was due January 24, but decided to show up fashionably late. She is honestly the sweetest baby, full of smiles and light. Maizah is obsessed with her, like we all are. We just all love looking at her and watching her grow.

This last couple of months, I’ve been surviving the beautiful and challenging world of newborn life. Sleep is now a series of naps (I won’t lie though – she’s a great sleeper) and getting her adjusted to everyday life.

It’s been an adjustment for all of us. Going from 1 to 2 kids is HARD. But I can’t imagine it any other way.

Like Maizah, Cali’s middle name is a flower – Lily. (Maizah’s is Rose.) Hubs and I agreed early on that if we ever had daughters, we would make their middle names flowers. We came across Caliana when researching girl names online and it means “graceful.” We loved the entire meaning of her name – graceful flower – and thought it was a perfect with the middle name Lily. Plus, we thought Cali Lily was a perfect play on words.

I had natural labor – yep, no drugs, which was an unforgettable experience for sure. If you’re interested in that story, I’m happy to do a video or separate post about it.

So, now I’m a mom of 2 and I’m not gonna lie, it’s hard, challenging, incredibly awesome & easily one of the greatest honors of my life.

Motherhood is going to be quite the adventure that I can’t wait to share with all of you. I won’t lie though, I’m excited to get back to work and creating content.
