If you’ve been multitasking your way through life—juggling motherhood, work, content creation, and faith—and still feel like you’re behind, I want to tell you this:
You’re not behind. You’re being planted.
This episode of the Everyday MAGIC Podcast is a deep-dive into what to do when you’re stressed, distracted, and overwhelmed by things that don’t even matter. Because the truth is, it’s not about doing more.
It’s about becoming who you were always meant to be.

Let’s talk about why this season—even if it feels slow, hidden, or heavy—is actually a planting season, and how the Be-Do-Have framework, straight from Genesis 1:28, can help you flourish on purpose.
Why You’re Stressed (and What’s Really Going On)
If you’re always tired, constantly distracted, and feel like you can never catch up, it might not be a scheduling issue. It’s likely an identity issue.
So many of us confuse what we do with who we are. But Genesis 1:28 reminds us that God blessed us first before ever giving us work to do.
“God blessed them and said, ‘Be fruitful and multiply…’”
That means your identity is blessed, not earned. And when you forget that, stress creeps in. You start to believe that productivity is your proof of purpose. That if you’re not constantly doing, you’re failing.
But friend, you’re not failing. You’re just out of alignment.
The Be-Do-Have Framework (Your Reset Button)
This Biblical framework is one of the most powerful mindset shifts you can make:
BE: Who are you becoming?
Before you do anything, ask: Who is God calling me to be in this season?
Be the peaceful version of you. Be the aligned version of you. Be the obedient version of you.
Because when you know who you are, you don’t need to perform. You can simply show up in your truth.
DO: What does that version of you do?
She doesn’t chase results—she walks in rhythm.
She sets boundaries, honors her rest, says no to distractions, and is deeply rooted in her purpose.
HAVE: What does she end up having?
- Progress without panic
- Purpose without performance
- Peace that actually lasts
Your results will never be sustainable if they don’t flow from who you are. So stop trying to “do” your way into peace.
Start with being.
Why the Martha vs. Mary Story Matters More Than You Think
So many of us identify with Martha—the woman doing all the work while Mary sat at Jesus’ feet. But the problem wasn’t Martha’s work ethic.
It was her heart posture.
Her mistake wasn’t that she was working. It’s that she let pride and comparison distort her perspective.
When you work at the wrong time, it becomes toil.
When you put work in the wrong position, it becomes pride.
You can have Martha’s work ethic with Mary’s heart. And that combination? It’s powerful.
What to Do When You Feel Behind
There are times when I am *productive* but I still feel behind.
I write in my planner daily and even when everything written in it looks great and my day seems like it will be productive, sometimes I feel like I’m playing catch up.
I ignore Chris for the sake of finishing a task.
I tell the kids “later” to make sure that I get it all done.
I forget to text a friend back because I was stressing over posting 3 times a day.
But sometimes the pauses are to make sure you’re being present. If you’re rushing through the process of your work, are you prepared for it?
This is your reminder: you’re not late. You’re being prepared.
We are in a planting season, and this season is not for rushing. It’s for obedience.
You can’t expect a harvest if you didn’t plant the seeds. And many of us are missing out on fruit simply because we were too distracted or stressed to plant.
So ask yourself: What seeds are you supposed to be planting right now?
Journal Prompts for This Season:
- Who do I need to be before I do anything else?
- What distractions are keeping me from planting seeds in this season?
- Am I creating systems that support who I’m becoming?
Grace, Systems + Truth: Your Planting Season Strategy
This isn’t about being perfect. It’s about being planted.
So let’s break it down:
- GRACE: Rest isn’t earned. It’s a gift. Receive it.
- SYSTEMS: Stop living in chaos. Create rhythms and routines that support your purpose.
- TRUTH: You are already blessed. Your identity is secure. You don’t need to prove anything.
The Be-Do-Have framework is here to help you recenter anytime you feel off. Come back to it again and again.
Because when you know who you are, you do what matters.
And when you do what matters, you have what you were always meant to have: peace, progress, and presence.
If this resonated with you, be sure to listen to the full episode of the podcast. It’s one of those episodes that grounds you, resets you, and reminds you of who you are.
We don’t chase perfect around here. We plant on purpose.
This is your season to sow.
And the fruit? It’s coming.
