The fact that it is February already is kind of wild. January was both long and short, but it feels good to be back to a normal rhythm. This month I’m getting back into a regular rhythm of posting content, celebrating Valentine’s Day, and officially moving into the basement for work.

On a day-to-day basis, I’ve been pretty consistent with mindfulness journaling, reading the Word, and moving my body. Working out is something that I really wanted to do consistently on an everyday basis and I was able to find what worked for me in January. Between strength training, walking, and the rowing machine, I’ve found my stride. Now, I designate certain days for certain workouts set a clear expectation for my schedule.
Valentine’s Day is on a Monday this year, so we’ll likely do our Valentine’s Day date night the weekend before to avoid a rush and for peace of mind. The Super Bowl is the Sunday before V-Day and I’m looking forward to making (and eating) game day snacks + treats.
Between snow days, the looming pandemic, and days off, finding things for the kids to do without a screen is always a challenge. I have no problem with screen time, but there should be other solid options as well. Whether it’s crafts, games, or toys – I’m getting a little bit more intentional about the things I purchase the kids to pass time. Even if that means I have to play with them, too.
I think I’ll finally be wrapping up Invisalign this month as well. What was supposed to be a 6-month journey became a year+ long journey since I got inconsistent with wearing my trays. It was absolutely worth the wait because
My nephew Des will be 16 this month and my cousin Maeshen celebrates her birthday the same day as her 15th wedding anniversary. Birthdays and anniversaries are so meaningful to me because I love celebrating the people I love so much.
