Mixing prints can be scary but it’s really not. The trick is to find a common shape or color between pieces and go from there. In this case, the black in the top and skirt was the common ground I found.

I’ve had this skirt for a while thanks to Yetunde Sarumi whose Ankara pieces are amazing. When I came across this WhoWhatWear top in Target, I instantly knew I was gonna wear it with this skirt. The same day we shot this, my brand new pumps came in. I haven’t had a pair of black pumps in a while. And if we’re being honest, they’re a staple. The patent leather allows the black to not be boring and even standout in looks that have a lot of black in them (like this one).
