As I type this, we’re moving out of our first home today. In June 2009, we bought our first home a few months before we got married with nothing but our clothes and a couple of pieces of furniture from Chris’ old apartment.
Today, we’re moving out with a lot more stuff – including two kids.
We’ll be moving into our new home in September and I am so excited for this next chapter. It’s been such a great experience watching them build our home from the ground up and get excited about making new memories in our home day to day and even for special occasions like birthdays and holidays.
This photo is from May when the house just started being framed. I’m not the most patient person, so when they broke ground in March and I knew we wouldn’t move in until September, I thought it would feel like forever. But honestly the wait hasn’t been too bad. There’s been so much to do and now that I’m starting to see everything come together, it’s totally worth the wait.
Now that we’re out of our house, we’ll be staying at Chris’ parents house for the next 4 weeks. Luckily they only live 15 minutes away and it’s such a blessing we can stay with family (for free!) while we wait for our home to be finished.
