Christian’s Nursery Reveal with Pottery Barn Kids

I’m so excited that Christian’s nursery is finally done. I’ve been daydreaming about this day for a while now. When we moved into our house last year, it was fun to pick which room would be for the girls and Christian and how I would decorate it.

I knew that I wanted something that was light and with hints of gray and blue. The unofficial color theme of our house is gray with little pops of various colors, so I wanted to keep a similar theme for Christian’s room as well. I started a Pinterest board to collect all of my nursery ideas and there were so many great photos of inspiration – but I started to narrow it down to the ones that had white, blue and gray as a focus with baby animals as an accent. I didn’t necessarily have a theme – but more of a picture in my head of what I wanted.

When we had the opportunity to work with my friends at Pottery Barn Kids – I was so excited. They have the cutest accessories for nurseries and I’ve always liked their nursery furniture. Because I liked so much, the hard part was deciding what pieces I wanted for the room to make my ideas all come together.

Christian’s room gets the most sunlight upstairs because it has three windows. One of the windows is smaller than the other two so we had to find the right curtains to make sense of it all. I absolutely loved these striped curtains. We decided to use 4 panels – 2 in the center and 2 on the outside for a fuller look.

For his crib, I knew I wanted something that would grow with him. When I saw this crib, I knew it was the one. It’s a 4-in-1 convertible crib, so it will transition into a toddler and twin bed for him as he grows. And PBK has the cutest crib sheets. These sheets were so adorable, I had to have them! Christian loves cuddling with a blanket, so we got him a personalized quilt with his name on it. He looks so sweet when he’s asleep with it.

My favorite piece of furniture in the nursery is the glider. The silhouette of it is so modern and the color was exactly what I was looking for. It is so peaceful when I’m feeding him and rocking him to sleep. It’s just so perfect. I thought that it made this rug pop and I love the pattern on it.

Christian’s room is the smallest in the house, so it was important to me to get pieces that would kill 2 birds with one stone. This dresser was such a great addition to the room. Because it had a topper, we added a changing pad and changing pad cover to maximize the space. When I saw these framed art pieces for the nursery, I knew they would look so good over the dresser.

The light fixture, hamper and lamp were small but nice add-ons to the nursery that turned out better than I thought. Light fixtures really transform a room in my opinion, but I didn’t want to pick something that would only work for the first year of Christian’s life. The star details of this light fixture really stand out and I love how it turned out so much. I liked the idea of having a round hamper for him as well and this one was the perfect fit. This gold floor lamp is good – I turn it on as the low light in the evening when I need to see without it being too bright.

Sure, having pieces that would last for years to come was important to me, but I loved the idea of having some novelty pieces that made the nursery feel like it was for baby. This rocker was too cute to pass up and I can’t wait until he’s old enough to play with it. (Caliana currently has a ball on it.)

This bookshelf (similar) made such a cozy little corner in the nursery with books, pictures and art. I love these photos of me, Christian and Hubs along with his books and stuffed animals. PBK has some great art pieces from Minted and this one stood out to me. I liked it for the house but for now, it looks great against the bookshelf.

So happy with how the nursery came out. A huge thanks to my friends at Pottery Barn Kids – the nursery is such a peaceful & wonderful part of our home.
